Privacy
Keyboard Warriors turns web pages into game arenas. No accounts, no ads, no trackers, nothing sold. This is everything that leaves your browser.
Browser extension
| When | Sent to our server | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You open the popup | The first 4 characters of a SHA-256 hash of the page's address. Never the address itself. | To show whether the page has an arena. The server returns every page in that hash bucket; your browser picks yours locally. |
| You press Create | The page's full address. | Our server visits the public page once to build the arena from it. |
| You press Join / Start a match | The page's full hash (in the game link). | To put you in that page's game. |
The extension only reads the address of the tab you open it on, only when you open it. It reads nothing on pages, and runs nothing in the background.
The game
- Your name: the name you type, shown to other players while you play. Not stored.
- A random player id: kept in your browser so a report counts once per player. Not linked to you.
- Reports: if you report a map: the map, your reason and note, and your random player id.
Your IP address
Used only for rate limits (how many arenas or reports one visitor can make). We store a salted hash of it with arena requests and reports, never the address itself. The site runs behind Cloudflare, which sees your IP address as any host does.
What we store, and for how long
- Arenas: the page address, a screenshot of the public page and the arena built from it. Rebuilt hourly when played; removed when the store is full and the arena is the least recently played, or when removed for its content.
- Arena requests and reports: as above, kept to run and moderate the service.
- No cookies of our own. Cloudflare may add a cookieless analytics script for page-view counts.
Removal and contact
To have a page's arena removed or blocked, report it in the game, or contact us at [email protected].
